Dynamics DS
Hosting and Design

::Uploading to DynamicsDS from iWeb::

Programs Needed:
- Apple iWeb
- CyberDuck
If you already know how to use other FTP software, feel free to use it. This tutorial will use CyberDuck.

Note: This tutorial begins when you are ready to upload your site and does not cover editing your site in iWeb.

Before We Begin

Open iWeb and open the site you are wanting to publish. Make sure all your changes are SAVED!

Step One: Publish to Folder

Go to the File Menu and Choose 'Publish to Folder' as shown in the image below.

Step Two: Choose a Folder

You will need to choose a folder to save your site files. I suggest you put this in a place you will remember such as a folder on your flash drive. Go to your flash drive, and click 'New Folder.' Label that folder 'PortfolioWebsite.'

BEFORE you hit 'Choose', type in your domain name in the circled area in the image below. This will help if you decide to add RSS feeds to your site. You should only have to type it in once. Once you have completed this, click 'Choose.'

Create a folder to save your site in

After you have chosen the place to save your files, iWeb will present you with the following prompt:
Some features may not be available when not publishing to MobileMe

This is to explain which features are not available in iWeb when you choose to not use MobileMe. Most of these features can be added easily through other means. Future tutorials will be added to explain these features later.

Step Three: CyberDuck

Step Six: Upload Changes

In the future, to upload any changes, you will need to repeat all of the preceding steps.

When uploading changes, you may have to overwrite files that you have previously uploaded. If so, you will be prompted to 'Overwrite' them as indicated in the picture below. Click 'Continue' to proceed.

Overwrite Changed Files

This may take some time the first couple times you create and update your site. But soon, these steps will go very quickly.
